Well hello fans,
Jonny here with an update on all things Jurassic World 2 related.
Now, a couple of things have really gotten my goat this past week. Mainly the following:
"See first shots of the woodland set for huge blockbuster being filmed on Hawley Common"
Excuse me? The above article was published on 18th April and claims to be the "first shots" of the JW2 set.
I think not.
Cast-a-holics will recall my blog post on 31st March with pictures of the set build. So "Get Surrey", put that in your pipe and smoke it! (Also, their pictures show you nothing. Mainly just the back of the main mansion set.)
Well fear not, we went back to the set last weekend to see how the build was progressing and managed to snap some much better quality shots which we will share with you here.
Since my initial speculation it has been confirmed that this is indeed Jurassic World 2, and by the looks of the sets they are building it would seem that this site is going to cover a couple of very different locations.
First things first:
Lets take a look at that mansion, we only got to see it from behind and some pretty low quality shots from the front in our previous post. So....
As you can see from the pictures it's really come along since our last visit. Due to where he perimeter fence is you can really get up close to the side of the set and even right up close it still looks great. I'm sure by the time they have finished up it will look like a proper mansion that's been there for years. I wonder if this is going to be the Masrani mansion, or perhaps the old Hammond family mansion? Either way, I'm more than confident that it's the external for the production teaser picture released earlier on this year:
The dimensions look right to me!
The second set being build around the corner from the mansion front is in stark contrast to the mansion. It appears to be more of a modern building with clean straight lines and white brick tiles. Perhaps the exterior or a lab maybe, or a command centre?
Security is contracted to be at the site until mid-late May so I can only assume that filming will start in the next couple of weeks. If you live in the local area around Hawley Lake and Hawley Common in Farnborough then keep your eyes peeled for Chris Pratt, you might just see the Star Lord himself wandering around!
